Asynchronous Controller Design

چکیده
This paper introduces a new method for the synthesis of gate-level asynchronous controllers. The method is based on a user-level specification formalism, the path model, and a simple algebraic tool, the signal calculus, that in combination provide a formalism for the specification and analysis of path-model designs. The path model view of communication is state-based as in other asynchronous finite-state-machine methods; however it focuses on the critical component of state machines, the paths, and ignores other non-critical free states. The signal calculus, a temporal lifting of Boolean logic, helps to formalise path-model specifications algebraically, removing much of the inadequacy of traditional tabular tools like flow tables, with their dependency on table cells that is exponential in input size. The method is demonstrated on two examples. Li Xiaolei is a DPhil student in the Programming Research Group at the University of Oxford. متن کاملMulti-channel UART Controller with Programmable Modes
In the recent years the development in communication systems requires the data transmission to be performed faster and faster. To meet this demand the paper presents a high speed multi channel UART controller based on FIFO (First In First Out) technique . An Asynchronous FIFO is designed with dual port ram array and with read and right pointers. The structure of controller is designed with UART...
متن کاملL∞ Control with Finite-Time Stability for Switched Systems under Asynchronous Switching
This paper is concerned with the problem of controller design for switched systems under asynchronous switching with exogenous disturbances. The attention is focused on designing the feedback controller that guarantees the finite-time bounded and L∞ finite-time stability of the dynamic system. Firstly, when there exists asynchronous switching between the controller and the system, a sufficient ...
متن کاملA high-performance asynchronous SCSI controller
We describe the design of a high performance asynchronous SCSI (Small Computer Systems Interface) controller data path and the associated control circuits. The data path is an asynchronous pipeline and the control circuits for the data path are built out of extended burst-mode machines [11]. This design is functionally compatible with a widely used commercial SCSI controller and was simulated c...
